Sceniq Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

Sceniq is a wallpaper app for Android. It does not require an account, does not sell your data, and does not include ads or optional product analytics in version 1.0.

Who We Are

Sceniq is provided by NextHour. You can contact us about privacy or support questions at info@nexthour.nl.

Data Stored On Your Device

Sceniq stores app settings locally on your device so the app can work as a wallpaper utility. This may include:

Provider-downloaded image cache files are currently stored under app cache with a 7-day maximum age. The Wallpaper cache control sets the provider image cache limit: Free uses 150 MB, while Premium can choose 250 MB, 1 GB, or 2 GB. Settings also includes a Clear local data action for known Sceniq preferences, favorites, onboarding state, rotation history, cached Premium status, and Sceniq-owned provider image cache files on this device. Hidden-wallpaper storage is not part of the current Sceniq implementation.

Remote Wallpaper Providers

Current release candidates use the bundled catalog unless a provider-enabled build is separately approved. Sceniq can use remote wallpaper providers to fetch images and metadata when a shipped build is configured for them. The current Android source can enable NASA APOD when an APOD runtime key is embedded in the app. Unsplash remains disabled in the current runtime configuration until attribution and download-tracking requirements are complete and approved.

Provider requests can expose normal internet request information to those providers, such as your IP address, user agent, request timing, and requested image or category. Sceniq does not add an account ID or advertising ID to wallpaper provider requests.

Purchases

Sceniq Premium is a one-time in-app purchase handled through Google Play Billing. Google processes payment details. Sceniq receives the purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock Premium features, but does not receive your full payment card details.

Ads And Analytics

Sceniq version 1.0 does not include ads, an ad SDK, or optional product analytics. If this changes in a later version, this policy, the app, and the Google Play Data Safety information will be updated before those systems are used.

Data Retention And Deletion

Local Sceniq settings remain on your device until you change them in the app, use Clear local data in Settings, clear app storage through Android, or uninstall the app. Provider image cache files expire from app cache under Sceniq's cache policy and are removed when you use Clear local data, Android clears app storage, or the app is uninstalled. Clear local data does not delete bundled wallpapers, Google Play purchase history, or the wallpaper already set on your device. Purchase entitlement state may be restored through Google Play.

If you contact us by email, we retain the information you send for as long as needed to respond, support the app, and keep reasonable business records.

Security

Sceniq uses HTTPS for remote provider requests where supported by the provider APIs. Cached wallpaper files and local preferences are stored in app-controlled Android storage.

Children

Sceniq is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy when Sceniq changes. The latest version will be available at this URL, and the date at the top will show when it was last updated.

This policy should be reviewed against the exact released app behavior before each public Google Play release.
